{Backyarding It}

Todd found a great deal on a new tent. (RIP to our last one...)

The kids wanted to actually use it.

...and go camping.

With Todd's crazy work-every-weekend schedule and my big 'ole Buddah belly we had to consider our destination carefully.

Our own back field? Perfect.

It's right next to the water, no noisy neighbors, and has wonderfully clean bathrooms.

No packing up coolers or suitcases. No worrying about forgetting anything.

Todd even got a side-by-side from work so we wouldn't have to hike in.

Did I mention it was perfect?

'Cause it was.

These are my favorite people in the whole wide world.
I wish I could just hang out with them like this every day.
My kids are funny.

The next day we had just one little chore that had to get done before we could go play.

Butchering chickens.

This pic of Caroline pretty much sums it up.

She spent the whole time hiding under a bush.

Then off to the dessert to play on the side-by-side!

The river had flooded over the trail so we stopped to let the kids play.
Two things I love about Lou:
the way his ears glow when the sun shines behind 'em.

and those little man flanks.

Skipping rocks 101.
Taught by Professor Todd.
It's all about the form.

Our little weekend also included some BB gun sharp shooting at pop cans we hung from trees,

a movie afternoon we traded in for a fishing trip (it was way too hot).

We had to BBQ our dinners.

Just to keep it real.

Why are little boys always so sticky?

Look ma, no hands.

Did I mention that my kids are funny?

...and they hold my heart in their sticky little hands?

Golly I love 'em so much.

Best. campout. ever.
