...so a lot of you people noticed at the end of that baby video (by the way, I am gonna make a huge assumption here that "baby" is going to completely take over this blog. So sorry.) that Todd and I have a bit of difference on when to tell everyone the big news. We told the kids way back in January when I was a whole whopping 5 weeks pregnant because I was starting to feel so sick. yippee.
Now, Todd would love to shout from mountain tops the second I'm done with the "tinkle stick" (if you know what I mean.) Such a proud daddy. I would rather not tell anybody. Ever. It's not that I don't want you to know, I just really don't like to be the one saying it. Don't ask me why. It's an age old question and four pregnancies tried and true. I must have issues. It drives Todd nutty.
Any who, just as he planned we went and told my parents that same day, called Todd's on the phone, and I think all our siblings knew within a day or two. We made Louis tell them, "We're turning the exercise room into a baby room!" The girls were pretty good about not saying anything to friends, Louis never sees anybody but the two little girls I babysit and their mommy is expecting too, so they totally didn't care. We were in isolation for so long because of the sickies (that's a whole new experience now that you know all the deets. EVERY time one of those kids puked, I. did. too. AWFUL!) so we didn't go to church for 3 weeks. I'm honestly surprised how long it stayed quiet. Or, all my neighbors are super nice and didn't say anything until they heard it from me. That's what I do.
Todd finally let the cat out of the bag on Facebook so I figured, eh, why not? That video is priceless.
So there ya go. No more little secrets!
I get weekly emails from babycenter.com that the girls just love. Their favorite is when it tells how big the baby is compared to a fruit. It's so cleverly called "From Poppy Seed to Pumpkin" can't wait for the pumpkin part. ugh.
This week? Kumquat.
Caroline was reading it last week with her daddy, then came running upstairs, "Mom, mom, MOM! I know where my bellybutton came from!"
Me, "Oh yeah, where?"
Caroline, "My.... extension... tube...?"

{Bacon Sandwich?}
So, just to clear things up.
We're having a baby? True. I'm due on September 11th!
We're having a bacon sandwich? Not in the foreseeable future. Ugh, the smell.
We're going to keep the baby? True. Like Todd said, you never know what you'll get on a trade.
As for all of Caroline's practical concerns, yes, the baby will get it's own room and we'll buy a car big enough to hold all six (6!) of us. Silly girl.
Elizabeth is still grinning ear to ear.

{Sick, sick, sick!}
We are sick of being sick. I must be a very lucky mama, because I cannot think of another time when all three kids were all sick at the same time. Sure, they've passed things along down the line, but there was one night there where they were ALL throwing up. A lot. And it was awful. Horrible. (shudder) My washer, me AND Todd could hardly keep up. You know it's bad when I have to ask Todd to help because he had a surgery a few years ago that makes it so he can't even throw up. I've never met another person more horrified at the idea of getting the flu.
OK, so you get the idea. It's bad. I finally thought we were clear, but then Bubba spiked a high fever and Boo started in puking again. Poor babies. These sad little faces are all I get to look at in the day. It's breaking my heart.

Lou insisted to wear his puke bowl on his head (don't worry, I wash everything thoroughly after each "use").
We're also sick of it being so *bleepity! bleepity!* cold!

-24 degrees
=
frozen pipes in both showers
=
no baths for puky kids.
Thank the heavens above we caught it before the toilets and washer froze up! Tender mercies.
They're also getting beyond the, "Mom, I'm bored. Boooooorrrrreeeeed!" stage. They won't even let me take any more pathetic pictures of their bottom lips sticking out. So we attempted a craft today. I found the idea here from good 'ole Martha. It was beyond messy, but has brightened up the place just in time for Valentines Day!
